Maybe...

Had I been screened at my first OB appointment, maybe we would have known.

Had I been educated about the risk of contracting CMV from a toddler ages 1-3, maybe we would have known.

Had Hank been screened when he failed his hearing test, maybe we would have know.

Maybe we could have done something.

Maybe we could have been prepared.

Maybe.

Maybe.

Maybe.

Not being screened removed our ability to act.

Not being screened removed our ability to educate ourselves.

We could have done something.

June is for making sure you don't have maybe.

June is for making sure you can do something.

June is for making sure you are prepared.

Educating. Informing. Advocating.

Looking for ways you can help with CMV Awareness?

Take a picture like this.

Use it as your profile picture and when a friend asks, "What is that?", you have a perfect opening to point them here and to the National CMV Foundation for more information.

The long and short of it is that CMV is a silent virus that affects 1 in 200 children.

1 in 3 pregnant women who contract CMV will pass it on to their unborn child.

1 child every hour is permanently disabled by Congenital CMV.

That's why we must #screen4cmv
